In an effort to provide affordable and convenient recharge options to its customers, Reliance Jio has introduced a simplified process for converting prepaid numbers to postpaid numbers. Previously, customers had to visit a physical store to make this conversion, but now it can be done easily through the Jio Mobile App. With this new feature, Jio users can enjoy the benefits of a postpaid connection without the need for a physical visit.
Postpaid connections offer several advantages over prepaid plans. Users with postpaid numbers don't need to worry about recharging their accounts during emergencies or unexpected events. Additionally, postpaid plans provide benefits like no daily data restrictions and the ability to carry forward unused data. These features make postpaid connections more appealing to many users.
To convert a Jio prepaid number to a postpaid number online, follow these simple steps:
1. Open the My Jio Application on your device and navigate to the 'Menu' section located in the top right corner of the app.
2. In the menu, look for the 'Switch to Postpaid' option and select it.
3. This will take you to the 'Migrate to Postpaid' screen, where Jio will provide information about the features and benefits of a postpaid connection.
4. Click on 'Move to Postpaid'.
5. A new screen will appear, prompting you to confirm your personal details and existing plan. You will also receive a warning about the lapse of prepaid benefits.
6. Click on 'Verify Now'. Enter the OTP (One-Time Password) sent to your number, accept the Terms and Conditions, and click 'Proceed'.
7. Choose the postpaid plan that suits your requirements and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the conversion process.
It's important to note that certain prepaid benefits, such as unused validity, vouchers, and data balance, will be forfeited upon migration to a postpaid connection. However, any top-up balance you have will be credited to your first postpaid bill, reducing its total amount.
Please be aware that if you are located in Jammu and Kashmir, the online services for converting your prepaid number to postpaid may not be available. In such cases, you will need to visit the nearest Jio Store for assistance. After the conversion, your postpaid bills will be sent to your registered email address.
Currently, Jio is offering a free one-month service for JioPlus users, with plans starting at Rs. 299 per month (30GB Data), and family share plans starting at Rs. 499/month. Jio Plus plans also provide access to premium OTT services like Prime Video and Netflix.
